Author. Editor. Web builder. Technical problem solver.
About
I understand both the material and the machinery behind it. That means I can identify a content problem, work out the technical solution, and explain the result in language people can actually use.
I am a published author with more than two decades of experience in writing and publishing. I have worked on both sides of the process, writing books, editing and ghostwriting for other authors, and building digital systems for complicated content.
My background also includes years as a technical writer and software developer, including work at Boeing Intelligence & Analytics. That experience helps me move comfortably between a complicated manuscript, a tangled WordPress site, and a collection of interviews or transcripts that has not yet found its structure.
On the editing side, I work as a developmental editor. I help authors structure books, incorporate interviews and transcripts into manuscripts, and revise long-form work so it holds together from the first page to the last.
On the technical side, I build and repair WordPress websites by hand, including custom content structures for musicians, directories, and organizations whose needs go past what a template can handle.
There is no account manager and no handoff between departments. If you work with Beighley Works, you work with me, from the first email through the finished manuscript or site.
